Creative West is the latest arts project to come to west Cheltenham and is supported by local organisations who want to offer FREE exciting creative opportunities to inspire young people.

Arts and community groups from across the town have worked together to offer Easter and summer holiday activities that they hope will encourage young people to get out of the house, off the iPad, take up a new hobby, meet people and generally let their creative juices flow.

The project will take place at venues across the area so that all young people can get involved. The key locations will be The Rock, Springfield Park, Oasis, Hesters Way Community Centre and KGV.

Funds raised for the project will pay for FREE activities including; junk percussion sculpture, circus skills, street dance, samba drumming, animation and visual arts. For what’s on at Easter see the poster below.

Street Art Workshop

We’ve teamed up with Cheltenham Paint Festival thanks to a successful bid by Think Travel to GWR to produce a piece of street art at the railway station.

Dice 67 and Slaz will be gathering ideas for a new piece and would like you to help them with ideas for artwork to be painted on the bridge opposite the Charlie Chaplin mural.

If you’ve got some bright ideas or would like to learn some of the basic techniques in design then drop in to Popeyes on Saturday 28th! See below for details

You can also see the new art work which has been painted on the side of the chippy – its fantastic.

All welcome 🙂
