Public Art in KGV

We are very pleased to announce that the long delayed KGV public art project is due to commence!

Artist Rob Olins has been busily designing a piece of art work which reflects the input of local residents who attended workshops at Hesters Way Library and Easter Eggstravaganza and ideas from pupils at Rowanfield Junior School.

The art work will include two 4.5 tonne sound mirrors which will be constructed on site. They will be erected on opposite sides of the cycle path at the bottom end of the park. Earthworks will form a dragon shape linking the two concrete structures with paths and benches incorporated into the design. The work will be enhanced by tree and wildflower planting to create a stunning effect with seating facing the wonderful views on the Cotswolds in the distance.

The works will commence in February 2019 and last for up to 2 months.
